杨永平，男，研究员，博士生指导教师。1965年1月30日生于江西省安远县。1986年毕业于兰州大学生物系，获理学学士学位；1989年毕业于中科院昆明植物研究所，获理学硕士学位。主要从事中国西南地区有用植物的系统学、植物地理学、民族植物学研究和高山植物的生态适应性研究。

主要工作经历：

    1989-1992年在中国科学院昆明植物研究所任实习研究员，助理研究员（1992-1997）、副研究员（1997－2006）、研究员（2007－）。1999－2002年在中国科学院昆明植物研究所任计划外事处处长，2002－2005年任中国科学院昆明植物研究所副所长，党委委员，纪委书记；2006-2009年任中国科学院昆明植物研究所副所长，党委委员和民族植物学研究室主任；2010年1月起任中国科学院青藏高原研究所副所长。
