    陈发虎,1962年生,自然地理学博士,中国科学院青藏高原研究所研究员、所长,兰州大学特聘教授,中国科学院院士,发展中国家科学院(TWAS)院士,中国地理学会理事长。现任中国科学院青藏高原研究所所长、研究员。1980、1984、1990年分别获兰州大学自然地理学学士、硕士和博士学位,1995-1997年利物浦大学地理系博士后。1992年任兰州大学地理系副教授,1995年任教授和博士生导师,2001年英国伦敦大学学院访问教授。1999-2004年兰州大学资源环境学院院长,2005-2016年任西部环境教育部重点实验室主任,2007-2018年任兰州大学副校长、学术委员会副主任。获国家杰出青年基金、中国青年科技奖、全国先进工作者称号等,入选中国科学院“百人计划”,负责国家基金委创新群体,任教育部“长江学者”特聘教授。现任国际地理联合会环境演变化委员会副主席,中国资源学会、中国第四纪研究会副理事长,曾任教育部地理学教学指导委员会主任(2013-2018)。担任多家国内外刊物的执行主编、副主编或编委,在Science、NCC、PNAS、ESR、SR、QSR、《中国科学》等国内外学术刊物发表SCI论文280多篇,总引10000多次,被SCI刊物引用8700多次,H指数48。
    长期从事晚第四纪气候和环境变化、史前文明演化与气候环境变化相互作用研究。在黄土研究、气候变化、环境变化、环境考古与史前文明演化等方面取得了系统性、创新性的研究成果。系统开展了黄土高原西部地区的黄土地层和气候记录研究,建立了适用于区域对比的黄土-古土壤序列;较早提出我国末次冰期冬、夏季风均存在快速变化;发现我国季风边缘区全新世气候也存在千-百年尺度的气候快速变化,表现为多次重大干旱事件。系统重建了亚洲中部干旱区的湿度(降水)时空变化,发现全新世中期东亚夏季风最强盛,西风核心区则中晚全新世最湿润,提出了全新世气候变化的“西风模态”及其解释机制新观点;提出农业扩散和发展促进了史前人类在晚全新世才长年定居青藏高原的新观点;发现自然暖期高山湖泊发生富营养化,提出现代人为暖期和自然暖期对高山湖泊生态系统的影响不同。研究成果获12项省部级科技奖(含一等奖5项)和国家自然科学二等奖2项(第一完成人,2007年,2018)。
